Police have arrested four individuals in connection with several crimes, including assault on police and use of weapon. The group comprises a 44-year-old man who was charged with multiple offenses, including drive while unlicensed, take/drive conveyance without consent, and resist arrest. He was also charged with three counts of being carried in conveyance without consent and using a weapon to avoid lawful detention.
Additionally, a 26-year-old man was charged with two counts of being carried in conveyance without consent, resist police, possess prohibited drug and possess offensive implement. Two other suspects, a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, are accused of threatening police with a knife during a foot pursuit.
All four individuals were denied bail and are set to appear in court on Wednesday 15 March 2023 at Cessnock Local Court. The police have stated that investigations are ongoing, and more information will be made available in due course.
