A nine-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after being struck by a car in Muswellbrook this afternoon. Emergency services were called to the intersection of Maitland Street and Rutherford Road at about 3:40pm on Friday 13 March 2026, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. Police say the child was crossing Rutherford Road when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old P-plate driver turning west from Maitland Street.
