No rego, no insurance, no bonnet, no rear brakes, caught doing burnouts.

Approximately 12.50am on Sunday the 12th of February 2023, Police attached to Hunter Valley Highway Patrol were conducting patrols along Bengalla Road, Bengalla as result of community complaints regarding traffic offences being committed in the Muswellbrook area.

Police detected an unregistered ford falcon sedan executing a burnout at the intersection of Wybong and Bengalla Road. The vehicle was not displaying registration plates. The 19 year old male driver was identified as an unaccompanied Learner and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

Police conducted a roadworthy inspection on the vehicle where they identified the vehicle was not fitted with any rear brakes, the battery was not secured, the front tyres were bald, the bonnet had been removed and non-complying modifications had been carried out on the vehicle.

As a result the driver was issued several penalty notices totalling $5,948 and a loss of 11 demerit points. The male’s licence was immediately suspended for three months.

Police will continue to work with the community to address any ongoing issues.
