P plate drivers licence suspended on the spot

Officers from Hunter Valley Highway Patrol detect 17 year old male driver travelling 45 K/ph over the speed limit.

At 5:25pm on Saturday the 12th November 2022, officers attached to Cessnock Highway Patrol were patrolling Mandalong Road, Mandalong in a signposted 80 K/ph speed zone when they detected a silver Honda Accord travelling at a speed of 129 K/ph.

Upon stopping the Honda it was established the male driver was the holder of a New South Wales class C provisional 1 driver’s licence which he had only held for two months.

As a result of the speed his licence was suspended for six months and confiscated by police and issued a penalty notice for exceeding the speed by more than 45 K/ph.
