Police Appeal After Alleged Assault on Hunter Line Train

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist with enquiries following an alleged assault on a Hunter Line train near Maitland.

The incident is reported to have occurred on the afternoon of Friday, 13 February 2026.

The man police wish to speak with is described as Caucasian, in his early 30s, of a large build, with short dark hair and a beard. He was seen wearing a distinctive dartboard-style shirt at the time.

Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have information that could help identify the man, to come forward.
