Detectives are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into the suspicious death of a woman following a unit fire in Bateau Bay last month. Emergency services were called to a unit block on Melissa Close about 9.30pm on Sunday, 24 August, where they discovered the body of a 77-year-old woman inside the loungeroom of the home. Strike Force Areegra – made up of Tuggerah Lakes detectives with support from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad – was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, which is being treated as suspicious.
