A motorcyclist has died this morning around 3am shortly after police called off the pursuit for safety reasons, it’s believed the police called off the pursuit on Hunter St.
The motorcyclist was found deceased a short time later on Scott st after hitting a smart pole and skidding along the road.
Port Stephens-Hunter police will conduct a critical incident investigation. Their findings will be subject to an independent review.
