At approximately 8:00pm last night, Cessnock VRA Rescue NSW was activated to assist police in the search for a woman believed to have been swept away in floodwaters at Black Creek, near Rothbury—just north of Cessnock. Cessnock VRA, along with NSW SES and other emergency services, continue to search the area today. Swiftwater rescue operators are among those on the ground and in the water. A Cessnock VRA spokesperson said, “We remain hopeful the missing woman will be found safe and well. Our teams are doing everything they can, and we ask the community to keep everyone involved in their thoughts.” Authorities continue...
