Teen Charged in Connection to Bateau Bay Stabbing Incident

On Monday, April 22, 2024, a distressing event unfolded at a bus stop on Bay Village Road in Bateau Bay, as reported by emergency services. A 20-year-old man was purportedly assaulted and stabbed in the back by three individuals during a verbal altercation outside a shopping center.

Following swift medical attention from NSW Ambulance paramedics, the victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition. In response, Tuggerah Lakes Police District launched a thorough investigation, establishing a crime scene and appealing to the public for any information regarding the incident.

After extensive inquiries, law enforcement apprehended a 15-year-old boy at Toukley Police Station on the same day. The teenager has been charged with affray and intentionally causing grievous bodily harm. He was denied bail and is scheduled to appear before a children’s court today, April 23, 2024.
