In a tragic incident unfolding in Lake Macquarie, a teenage girl is set to appear in court today, facing charges of murder following the death of another young girl. The distressing event occurred yesterday at a residence on Thurston Street, Boolaroo, approximately 20km southwest of Newcastle.
Emergency services rushed to the scene around 3:45 pm on Monday after receiving reports of a stabbing. Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, a 10-year-old girl succumbed to multiple stab wounds.
Law enforcement swiftly responded, with officers from Lake Macquarie Police District apprehending a 17-year-old girl at the scene. She was subsequently transported to Belmont Police Station for questioning.
