Tobacco Wars Continue: Second Store Destroyed on Central Coast
Investigations are underway following a second tobacco store fire on the Central Coast early this morning, fueling concerns over escalating tensions in the region’s tobacco industry.
At around 2:15 AM on Thursday, 22 August 2024, emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a shopping complex on the Pacific Highway in Charmhaven. NSW Fire and Rescue officers quickly extinguished the blaze, but not before the tobacco shop suffered extensive damage. Two neighboring shops were also impacted by the fire.
Tuggerah Lakes Police District officers established a crime scene, and investigations are ongoing. No injuries have been reported, and no one was found at the scene when authorities arrived.
