Search resumes this morning for two missing Fisherman aged 70 and 37 who did not return from their fishing trip yesterday.
About 6am (Sunday 29 December 2019), the two left the Jetty Boat Ramp on Jordan Esplanade, in a five-metre runabout and were headed towards Sawtell Reef.
Yesterday Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and commenced a search for the men, assisted by the Marine Area Command, and Marine Rescue. An aerial patrol by a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was unable to locate the men or their runabout.
The alarm was raised about 6.45pm, when the men failed to return. A search of the boat ramp carpark revelled their car is still parked in the carpark.
Police are lead to believe the boat is equipped with life jackets.
