
Two Teens Charged After Fatal Hunter Pursuit, Adult in Car Still Not Charged as Yet
Two teenagers have been charged following a fatal police pursuit in the Hunter over the weekend, as investigations continue. Police attempted to stop a Honda on the New England Highway at Aberdeen around 11:55pm on Saturday (6 September), but the driver allegedly failed to comply, prompting a high-speed pursuit north to Scone. The vehicle crashed about 100m north of Makybe Diva Street. A 17-year-old front-seat passenger died at the scene. The 14-year-old driver and three back-seat passengers – two teenage boys (14 and 17) and a 25-year-old woman – were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
