UPDATE: Forensic Police Bagging multiple bags of evidence.
The investigation into the Cessnock house fire over night continues, with authorities now investigating weather the blaze had been started deliberately. The remains of the property are currently being combed through by specialist forensic police in an effort to determine the cause of the fire.
The incident, which took all available resources from nearby Fire and Rescue stations to bring under control, has raised concerns about the need for more emergency services in the area. The residents of the house thankfully managed to escape unharmed, but the property has been completely destroyed.
Hunter Valley Police District is urging anyone with information about the fire to come forward and assist with the investigation. We will continue to provide updates on this developing story
