An investigation has commenced following a public place shooting at Wallsend overnight. Just before 2am (Tuesday 2 February 2021), officers from Newcastle City Police District were called to a home on Platt Street, Wallsend, after a shot was fired through the front window. Police attended and established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic officers. Three adults and three children were home at the time; however, no injuries have been reported.
