Around 1:30pm on Friday, 21 November 2025, residents in Anna Place, Wallsend were stunned when a massive water main burst and sent a towering column of water shooting into the air, flooding the entire cul-de-sac.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Station 484 rushed in to find water gushing like a geyser and nearby homes already taking in water. Firefighters quickly deployed a portable pump to remove water from inside one of the affected homes, helping reduce damage and keeping residents safe.
Hunter Water arrived shortly after, isolating the broken water main and securing the area.
💧 Witnesses say the street looked like a fast-moving stream.
💧 Several homes were hit with sudden flooding before crews stopped the flow.
Huge thanks to the local community for their patience and cooperation during the chaos.
