Police are investigating a pursuit through the Hunter overnight. Shortly before 1am today (Thursday 13 February 2020), officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were patrolling the East Maitland area when they noticed a white Nissan Navara which was allegedly stolen earlier in the morning. A pursuit was initiated which travelled through numerous Hunter suburbs including East Maitland, Maitland, Rutherford, Telarah, Metford and Tenambit – reaching speeds of 140km/hr. The pursuit was terminated around 1.30am; police located the vehicle abandoned a short time later near Logan Road, Rutherford. A perimeter was established however the driver could not be located.
