Emergency services were called to the carpark on Memorial Drive around 11:40 PM (Wednesday, 23 April), where they found the young man suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by NSW Ambulance paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police, a group was involved in a fight at the carpark when a white SUV pulled up.
