South Newcastle Beach Safety Update
The City of Newcastle has issued an important safety update regarding South Newcastle Beach—traditionally known as Yirannali by the local Awabakal people, meaning “place of falling rocks.” Due to the area’s long history of cliff instability, Council has been actively monitoring and managing the South Newcastle cliff line for several years.
