A body has been discovered in the ongoing search for a man who went missing in the Lake Macquarie region.
Emergency services were called to the Croudace Bay Dog Park on Bareki Road in Valentine at approximately 5 PM on Monday, 25 November, after reports of a man in the water. Police were told the 60-year-old man had been attempting to retrieve a small boat that had become detached from its mooring.

The man was last seen swimming towards the boat before a witness lost sight of him. Authorities, including officers from Lake Macquarie Police District, Marine Area Command, Marine Rescue, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, launched a search covering both land and sea.
At around 7:30 AM on Tuesday, 26 November, a body, believed to be that of the missing man, was located near a boat ramp in Valentine. The man has yet to be formally identified, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
