Emergency services responded to reports of a violent altercation at a shopping centre on Blue Gum Road, Jesmond, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, 5th September 2024. Upon arrival, police found that the individuals involved had fled the scene. Officers from the Newcastle Police District subsequently established a crime scene and launched an investigation.
Later that evening, at around 9:30 p.m., a man with a chest wound, believed to be linked to the earlier incident, sought medical attention at Calvary Mater Hospital in Waratah. Police are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
