Woman Faces Additional Charges After Elderly Man Dies Following Wallsend Assault

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with an additional offence after the death of an elderly man who was critically injured in an alleged assault in Wallsend last month. Emergency services were called to Raglan Street, Wallsend, around 12:55 pm on Sunday, 10 November 2024, following reports of an assault. Police allege the woman struck an 81-year-old man with an object, causing him to fall onto the road. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before transporting him to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he passed away on Sunday, 24 November 2024.
