A man and a young child tragically lost their lives in a crash on the Mid North Coast early this morning.
Around 3 AM, emergency services were called to The Bucketts Way in Tugrabakh, following reports of a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers from the Manning Great Lakes Police District discovered an SUV had veered off the road and down an embankment.
The male driver, believed to be in his 40s, and a young girl died at the scene. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.
Two young boys, who were also in the vehicle, were trapped for a period before being freed with the help of NSW Fire and Rescue. Both boys were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to John Hunter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
