Woman's Body Discovered on Melbourne Beach, Investigation Underway
A woman’s body was discovered early Monday morning on a beach in Melbourne’s southeast. The body was found at Edithvale, near the Carrington Street entrance to the beach, around 6:30 AM.
Victoria Police are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. In a statement, police confirmed they were called to the scene and have launched an investigation.
“The circumstances surrounding her death are yet to be established and an investigation is underway,” the statement read. “More information will be supplied when it becomes available.”
Footage from the scene shows a blue tarpaulin covering a section of the beach, with emergency crews nearby. Edithvale is located about 28 kilometers from Melbourne’s CBD.
