$1.5 Million Worth of Cannabis Seized in Muswellbrook Hydro House Raid
In a significant drug bust, police seized cannabis worth an estimated $1.5 million during a raid on a house in Muswellbrook, located in the Hunter region.
The investigation, which began in March 2024 by officers from the Hunter Valley Police District, was prompted by a tip-off about the property on Woollybutt Way being used for cannabis cultivation.
During the raid at approximately 3:40 pm yesterday, police uncovered a hydroponic setup. They seized harvested cannabis valued at over $1.1 million and more than 200 cannabis plants estimated to be worth about $400,000.
Three individuals were arrested at the scene: two men, aged 41 and 45, and a 35-year-old woman. They were charged with participating in the cultivation of a large commercial quantity of cannabis plants and the supply of cannabis leaf on a commercial scale. All three were refused bail and are scheduled to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
Still images from the raid will be posted on the NSW Police social media pages.
