In an early morning operation, the Newcastle City Police arrested an 18-year-old male on Acacia Avenue, Waratah West, after he fled from the scene of a stolen motor vehicle. The police chased the suspect, who was eventually apprehended after a short pursuit.
Suspect linked to break-ins
Upon his arrest, a number of sets of car and house keys were found on the suspect. The police believe that these keys are linked to a series of break and enter offences in the area. The suspect is currently being held in custody for further questioning.
Appeal for information
The police have released an image of the sets of keys found on the suspect and are appealing to the public for information. If anyone can identify any of the sets pictured, they are urged to contact the Waratah Police Station on 02 4926 6599 and quote reference E93102464.
