64-Year-Old Man Threatened with Knife in Rutherford! Police Need Your Help.

Police are urgently seeking information following an attempted armed robbery near Maitland, and they need YOUR assistance!

Around 11:30 pm yesterday (Monday, August 5, 2024), officers were called to a home on Waterworks Road, Rutherford, after reports of a terrifying incident. A 64-year-old man was threatened with a knife by an assailant demanding property. When the courageous 64-year-old refused, the suspect fled.

Port Stephens-Hunter Police have initiated an investigation and believe this incident may be connected to a series of break-ins on the same road on July 22, July 25, and August 2, 2024.

The suspect is described as around 187 cm tall, with a medium build and light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark grey hooded jumper, light grey tracksuit pants, dark shoes, and may be wearing reading glasses.
