Wespac have informed local member for Wallsend Sonia Hornery that Wespac will close its New Lambton Branch in October 2020.
This is a massive blow specially for the elderly in the community who rely on face to face banking services and cannot travel into Hamilton or Newcastle easily
“The bank will close its branch in late October and I thank the bank for having the guts to let me know about the closure, unlike the previous banks who have shut branches.”said Sonia Hornery MP for Wallsend.
Customers who wish to continue banking with Westpac can visit the Hamilton branch 3.3km away, or the Newcastle branch 6.9km away. Alternatively, Westpac has a Bank@Post partnership with Australia Post, which offers banking services for our customers, located 200 metres from the New Lambton branch.
