
Appeal to Identify Parents or Carers After Non-Verbal Boy Found Alone in Newcastle
Police are urgently appealing for public assistance to identify the parents or carers of a young boy found alone overnight in Newcastle. About 12am on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, officers from the Newcastle City Police District were called to Station Street, Waratah, after reports a child had been located in the area. Police were told the boy was found in a drain way between Station Street and Platt Street. Despite extensive inquiries with nearby residents and members of the public, officers have been unable to locate his parents or carers.
