Attempted Carjacking in Hamilton: Woman Forced Out of Car During Red Light, Suspect on the Run
HAMILTON, NSW – A woman was shaken but unharmed following a frightening attempted carjacking near the intersection of Beaumont and Donald streets.
Around 10:10 pm on Thursday, January 4th, the woman and her passenger were stopped at a red light in their Nissan Qashqai when an unknown man approached. Police say the man opened the driver’s door, grabbed the woman’s arm, and demanded she leave the vehicle.
Thankfully, another car approached from behind, causing the suspect to flee the scene on foot. The woman quickly drove to Waratah Police Station to report the incident. Neither she nor her passenger sustained any physical injuries.
Police are now searching for the suspect, described as approximately 170cm tall with thick dark curly hair. He was last seen wearing a red hooded jumper, a red face covering, shorts, and joggers.
