SHOCKING! Door-Knocker Scam Artist Strikes in Lake Macquarie!
Residents of Lake Macquarie are on high alert after reports of a sneaky door-knocker who allegedly tried to scam residents out of their hard-earned cash! The incidents reportedly happened between 5pm-7pm on Friday, 7th April 2023, in Cardiff and Garden Suburb.
The brazen scam artist reportedly knocked on doors and solicited money from unsuspecting residents! But fear not, the Lake Macquarie Police District is hot on his heels! They’ve launched an investigation into the incident and have released a description of the suspect they want to talk to.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, around 180cm tall, with a tanned complexion, medium build, and short brown hair. He was reportedly wearing beige cargo shorts and a beige jacket at the time of the incident.
Police have also issued a warning to residents to be careful when answering their doors and to keep their security screens locked. They’re urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting event number E76688211.
