Kurri Kurri Pool Faces Criticism and Demands for Refunds Amid Longer Closure Than Expected

POOL DECK REMAINS CLOSED DUE TO UNEXPECTED ROOF ISSUES: MEMBERS DEMAND REFUNDS AND ALTERNATIVE SWIMMING SPOTS”

The local KKAC pool has faced unexpected issues with their roof, delaying their major works and leaving their pool deck closed for an extended period. With some rainy days adding to the trouble, the community has been left without their favorite swimming spot for weeks.

To make matters worse, some members have complained about being charged weekly memberships while the pool has been closed. One member, one woman, has been chasing a refund for over a month without any response. “Not good enough!” she exclaimed.

Others have criticized the timing of the works, with another woman stating that it’s “ludicrous” to commence major works across the school holidays just after the Cessnock Pool closed for the season. She adds that there’s nowhere locally to swim and she was even turned away from KKAC last week.

Another woman is also frustrated, as she had booked a birthday party at the pool for April 16th, but with the roof restoration taking longer than expected, she’s now scrambling to find a last-minute venue. “No one has called us,” she said.

Despite all the setbacks, the KKAC gym and reception remain open from 9am-5pm. The pool deck is set to reopen on Monday, April 17th, and the community hopes to have their beloved swimming spot back in action soon.
