Australian Federal Police (AFP) have intercepted a light plane flying under the cover of darkness from Papua New Guinea to Queensland, allegedly carrying more than $15 million worth of methamphetamine.
The plane is said to have flown from Wilton, south-west of Sydney, to Bulolo in PNG, where it allegedly collected 52kg of the drug before heading to Monto, where police arrested the suspects. Among the five charged is a man from Newcastle.
