BREAKING NEWS: Major House Fire on Edith Street, Cessnock
Fire crews rushed to Edith Street, Cessnock, just after 4.12pm following reports of a third-alarm blaze. On arrival, they were confronted with the home already well alight, with flames and smoke visible from a distance.
Fortunately, it is believed no one was home at the time but not confirmed by officals. In a brave act, a neighbour entered the property and managed to rescue two cats before the fire spread further.
Multiple fire units worked quickly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, with investigators expected to examine the scene once it is declared safe.
