Emergency responders from Cessnock VRA were activated at 18:04 to a motor vehicle collision on Wine Country Drive, Pokolbin. The vehicle had veered off the road, coming to a halt among trees. Upon arrival, the occupant was still inside the vehicle.
While NSW Ambulance provided initial treatment, VRA volunteers worked on stabilizing the vehicle. Faced with obstructed doors due to trees, a decision was made to extricate the casualty through the rear hatch. Teams removed excess tree debris, inserted a spine board, and carefully maneuvered the individual onto it.
Working in tandem with the NSW Rural Fire Service, the team successfully carried the spine board from the vehicle to the awaiting ambulance and taken to hospital for further treatment.
