Australian rock legend Daniel Johns, 44, has inked a monumental global publishing agreement with BMG, encompassing not only the complete repertoire of Silverchair’s music but also his 2022 chart-topping solo album, FutureNever. This significant move signifies a major shift in the control of the artist’s extensive musical legacy.
Under this agreement, BMG now represents the esteemed artist’s publishing and record arrangements, solidifying their hold on Silverchair’s iconic hits such as “Straight Lines,” “The Greatest View,” “Ana’s Song,” and “Freak,” which will fall under their purview by 2025.
Having originally formed Silverchair alongside Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou in 1992, Daniel Johns has now paved his own path, securing a profitable publishing deal with BMG.
