In an exclusive update, Cessnock’s Urgent Care Clinic has officially announced its temporary closure on Sundays for the next 2 to 3 weeks. This decision comes as the clinic awaits crucial Development Approval (DA) to extend its operation hours to Sundays, as initially advertised for 7-day service.
Our team reached out to Dan Repacholli, the Member for the Hunter, following recent reports of its Sunday closure, which sparked confusion among patients and the community. Here’s what Dan Repacholli had to say:
“The clinic is currently in the process of securing the necessary Development Approval (DA) to operate on Sundays. Due to the recent change in ownership, the DA application had to be submitted under the new business name, which has caused a brief delay in the process.”
Mr. Repacholli reassured the community that the DA application has been promptly submitted, and they anticipate the closure to be in effect for the next 2 to 3 weeks. Importantly, the local Department responsible for overseeing such matters has been informed and is fully aware of the situation.
To minimize any inconvenience to patients, appropriate signage has been placed at the clinic to notify visitors of the temporary Sunday closure. The clinic remains open on all other days, providing essential healthcare services to the community.
However it worth noting that patients have report a postive feedback on wait times and treatment at the facility so far.
