Dashcam Footage Captures Terrifying Near-Miss with Reckless Dirt Biker

In a terrifying incident near Killingworth this afternoon, a 4WD narrowly avoided a collision with an illegal dirtbike rider. The incident was captured on a dashcam and the footage has since been shared on the Lake Macquarie Locals Facebook page by Stephen Apps.

As the 4WD approached a left learning corner, a dirtbike suddenly appeared, cutting the corner on the wrong side of the road. The footage clearly shows the danger posed by reckless dirt bike riders on public roads. This is the third such incident in the Hunter region in the past two weeks, with two of them resulting in the death of the dirt bike rider.

The incident highlights the urgent need for authorities to crack down on illegal dirt bike riding and enforce stricter penalties for those who engage in this dangerous behavior. Motorists must also exercise caution and remain alert on the roads to avoid potential collisions with these reckless riders.
