Denman Fire and Rescue (DFR) crews were called to two motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) on Sunday, with the second requiring extensive response efforts.
Just after assisting 392 Muswellbrook with a separate entrapment, DFR arrived at a mass casualty scene west of Denman. A vehicle had struck a railing, launching it roughly 50 meters before it came to rest precariously over a gully.
Responding firefighters faced a challenging situation with numerous injured victims. DFR crews immediately prioritized treatment for the most severely injured, while our partners from Mangoola Rural Fire Brigade NSW provided fire protection and first aid to other individuals. A coordinated extrication plan was then swiftly implemented and carried out.
“This was a complex and demanding incident that required the combined efforts of multiple agencies,” said [Rank] [Name], Officer in Charge at Denman Fire and Rescue. “The quick and skilled actions of our firefighters along with those from Mangoola Rural Fire Brigade were instrumental in ensuring the safety of all involved.”
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety. DFR urges everyone to be cautious and responsible behind the wheel, especially during busy holiday travel periods.
