Emergency services rushed to Waratah Street, Bellbird—just south of Cessnock—late Friday night after receiving multiple triple zero calls reporting a house engulfed in flames.
According to Acting Superintendent Aaron Ross from Fire and Rescue NSW, crews arrived swiftly at the scene just after 11:30 PM, but despite their rapid response, the home was completely destroyed by the blaze.
An elderly woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and transported to hospital suffering from minor smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and Fire and Rescue NSW remains on scene today assessing the aftermath.
