A woman in her 80s was the victim of a sexual assault attempt in Brooklyn Park, Ashtonfield, on Monday evening.
Police say the woman was walking between Kilkenny Circuit and Chelmsford Drive around 7:20 pm when a male knocked her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her before fleeing. She contacted a family member and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Detectives from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District, with support from the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad, are investigating under Strike Force Bosgar.
Authorities are seeking a teenage boy described as mid-to-late teens, dark complexion, wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts, who left the scene on a push scooter.
Anyone with information, or with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area between 7 pm and 8 pm, is urged to contact Maitland Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
