Female driver and male passenger trapped in vehicle after accident

Wallsend Fire and Rescue, along with NSW Ambulance and Rescue & Bomb Disposal – NSW Police Force, rushed to Blue Gum Road in Jesmond on Tuesday 14th March 2023, following reports of a motor vehicle accident with persons trapped inside.

The rescue operation was a race against time as crews worked to extract a female driver and male passenger who were confined inside the vehicle. Thanks to the swift response and coordinated efforts of the emergency services, the two individuals were successfully rescued and transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The accident caused partial closure of the southbound lane of Blue Gum Road, as the emergency services worked to clear the scene and ensure the safety of all those involved. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution and obey traffic laws to avoid similar incidents.
