Police are urgently appealing for public help after a bold break and enter at a rural property in the Hunter Valley left firearms and thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment stolen.
Officers from the Rural Crime Prevention Team (Hunter Valley Police District) say the offence occurred in the township of Wybong, near Muswellbrook, sometime between 8pm on Thursday 19 December and 1pm on Friday 20 December 2025.
During the break-in, offenders allegedly stole multiple firearms and ammunition, sparking serious safety concerns, along with a large cache of high-value tools and equipment. Items taken include Stihl chainsaws, a Makita concrete cutting saw, a Transmig welder, a red Honda firefighting water pump, DeWalt power tools, bows, tree-lopping gear and various poly fittings.
Police believe the offenders may have used a vehicle to remove the stolen property and are urging anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area during that time to come forward.
Investigators say even small pieces of information could be critical in tracking down those responsible and recovering the stolen firearms before they end up in the wrong hands.
