Belford, NSW – Fire and Rescue NSW Station 237 responded to a single-vehicle accident on the New England Highway at Belford at approximately 1:00 PM today. The car had rolled over after leaving the roadway, leaving the driver trapped inside.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle on its side with the driver confined. Using specialized rescue equipment, they quickly removed the roof of the car, allowing for safe extrication of the patient.
NSW Police Force, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance, and Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service were also present at the scene to assist with the rescue and provide medical care to the injured driver.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
