BREAKING: Guns, Meth, and High-Speed Chase Rock Central Coast — Man Charged with 11 Offences After Wild Pursuit
A dramatic police pursuit through multiple Central Coast suburbs has ended with a 27-year-old man facing a string of serious charges — including firearms and drug possession — after crashing his car in Wamberal.
The chaos unfolded just after 7:30am on Monday morning (7 July 2025), when officers from the Brisbane Water Police District attempted to stop a suspicious sedan on Del Rio Drive in Copacabana. The driver allegedly refused to stop, sparking a high-speed chase that tore through Kincumber, Avoca, and Terrigal.
At one point, the vehicle collided with a police car, causing minor damage but failing to bring the pursuit to an end. It finally came to a halt on Cabarita Street in Wamberal, where the suspect crashed and was arrested at the scene.
During a search, police allegedly found 0.8 grams of methamphetamine and a flick knife on the man. But the shock escalated when a search of the vehicle revealed a dangerous haul: three firearms, ammunition, and a hatchet.
The 27-year-old man was taken to Gosford Police Station and hit with 11 charges, including:
- Police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly
- Driving while disqualified
- Use of an offensive weapon to resist arrest
- Possession of prohibited drugs
- Multiple firearms offences, including possessing a loaded firearm in a public place
He has been refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, 8 July 2025.
A 33-year-old woman who was also arrested at the scene was released without charge.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
