A family is living every parent’s worst nightmare, desperately searching for answers after 14-year-old Lakyia Gillison vanished from Gillieston Heights on Monday evening.
Lakyia was last seen around 5:30pm on Les Drive. When she couldn’t be reached, her family contacted police, and a search was quickly launched by the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District. But as hours have turned into days, fear and heartbreak are growing.
Described as being of Indian Subcontinental appearance, Lakyia is about 140cm tall with a slim build, long black hair, and brown eyes. She was wearing a black jumper, ripped blue jeans, and tall black sandals when she was last seen.
Her loved ones are beside themselves with worry, and police share their deep concern due to her young age. Lakyia is known to visit the Maitland and Sydney areas, and it’s hoped that someone, somewhere, might have seen her and can help bring her safely home.
