In the early hours of this morning, emergency responders rushed to a devastating scene as flames engulfed a two-story residence in Caves Beach. The fire, believed to have originated in the garage, quickly consumed the entire structure.
Fortunately, the occupants were alerted by a functioning smoke alarm, enabling them to evacuate safely. Fire and Rescue crews from various stations, including Belmont, Charlestown, Tingira Heights, and Wallarah Rural Fire Brigade, swiftly implemented a defensive strategy to contain the blaze and protect neighboring properties.
The Newcastle Aerial Appliance was deployed to access the fire on the second story from above, aiding in the firefighting efforts. Despite the valiant efforts of responders, the residence was completely destroyed.
Thankfully, all family members and pets escaped unharmed, with no reported injuries.
