In a shocking incident, a woman has been apprehended for high-range drink-driving in Lake Macquarie. The arrest took place yesterday at approximately 11:15 am (Tuesday, March 19, 2024), when vigilant officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District intercepted a sedan on the Pacific Highway, Gateshead, citing erratic driving behavior as the cause.
Upon administering a roadside breath test, the driver purportedly tested positive, prompting immediate arrest. Subsequently, she was escorted to Belmont Police Station for further procedures. Breath analysis conducted at the station revealed an alarming alleged reading of 0.356 – a staggering seven times over the legal limit.
Identified as a 46-year-old woman, she has been served with a court attendance notice for the charge of driving with high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA), along with an immediate suspension of her license.
