Interested in Serving Your Community? Attend Cessnock City Councillor Candidate Information Sessions
Local residents considering a role as a Cessnock City Councillor are invited to attend one of two candidate information sessions on Wednesday, June 26. The sessions will be held at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, in preparation for the upcoming local government elections later this year.
Cessnock City Council General Manager Ken Liddell encourages anyone interested in standing for Council to attend. “The candidate information sessions will cover the role and responsibilities of being a local councillor, expectations during a term on Council, and details about the upcoming election,” said Mr. Liddell.
“These sessions are particularly beneficial for those new to local government, providing essential information to make an informed decision about standing for election. This is a wonderful opportunity for those passionate about making a positive impact and contributing to the decisions that shape our growing city’s future.”
The event is open to all residents, whether you’re an experienced community activist or new to local politics, interested in learning more about the councillor role and how to contribute to the community.
