In the early hours of Saturday, September 23rd, a grave incident unfolded in New Lambton Heights. At approximately 12:20am, law enforcement swiftly responded to a distress call reporting a motor vehicle collision on McCaffrey Drive.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a collision involving a Holden Commodore and a Suzuki motorcycle. The situation took a concerning turn when the 53-year-old male driver of the Holden Commodore exhibited signs of impairment, such as swaying and unsteadiness on his feet.
Promptly, police administered a breath test, which yielded a positive result. Subsequently, the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Waratah Police Station. There, a breath analysis was conducted, revealing a startling reading of 0.148, placing him in the mid-range PCA category.
His driver’s license was suspended, and he was served with a court attendance notice.
